Chaos at the start of the 1980 Monaco Grand Prix as midfield runners crowd into the Sainte Devote turn. Derek Daly’s Candy-sponsored Tyrrell ran into the back of Bruno Giacomelli’s Alfa Romeo and launched. There were no serious injuries but Daly, Giacomelli, Tyrrell’s Jean-Pierre Jarier and McLaren’s Alain Prost were out.
