Arguably the biggest motor sport celebration anywhere in the world is marking the 75th anniversary of the Formula 1 world championship with its largest-ever collection of grand prix stars.

Around 100 F1 cars are expected on site, with the majority running up the hillclimb each day, and there are expected to be at least 35 current and former Formula 1 drivers at the Festival over the course of the weekend, including eight world champions. Of those, Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell, Jackie Stewart, Emerson Fittipaldi, Mario Andretti, Mika Häkkinen and Jacques Villeneuve are due to make an appearance on the balcony of Goodwood House on Saturday.

They’ll be looking out onto a sculpture celebrating 60 years of Gordon Murray’s historic design career, during which time he designed five championship-winning cars for Brabham and McLaren, penned the legendary McLaren F1 road car, and then went on to found Gordon Murray Automotive.

Several of Murray’s cars will be in action on the hillclimb, which also hosts the annual timed shoot-out, with practice sessions on Friday and Saturday, and the final just after 3pm on Sunday.

There’s also an overwhelming spread of displays, stands, and interactive activities for visitors. But if you’re planning on staying in the shade and watching from home, then each day of the event brings almost non-stop action on the hillclimb, as well as the rally stage, available to watch on the live stream below.
